Two houses by John Holden Greene. The earlier one, a smaller side-hall-plan version of the monitor-on-hip-roof house around the corner, was built for another member of the Burrough family; it’s not only smaller in size but also more diminutive in scale. The later house Greene (150 Power Street) built for himself and his family, and, like many architect’s homes, experiments with combinations of form and detail not usually seen elsewhere in their work, such as the tripartite windows and full-width front porch.
