Another Freeman-bequest house, this time for a grandson, this is the product of the successor architectural firm to Mrs Clifford’s by the 1950s known as Harkness & Geddes, with a junior partner in Peter Geddes. Harkness was no stranger to Modernism, though he seldom found clients as willing as Clarke Freeman. His cousin Roger Freeman, Jr, built a similarly modern house on the other side of this block at 57 Hazard Avenue, but turned instead to Cull, Robinson & Greene for its design.
