A substantial brick Georgian Revival house, the MacAllister House shows elements that were locally becoming more common for this style in the second and third decades of the 20th century: tripartite windows flanking the Tuscan-column-porch-sheltered center entrance with full-height sidelights, small tripartite window above the entrance, and central shed-roof dormer.
A jewelry manufacturer, MacAllister was president of the Art Process Co. on Clifford Street as well as vice president of Irons & Russell Co. on Chestnut Street, both in Providence’s jewelry district. By 1928, the family had moved to Barrington.
