This expansive Queen Anne/Colonial Revival house with Roman-brick first story, shingled upper story, and complex cross-gambrel roof represents the terminal expression of a formal exploration begun in the 1880s. Surely this must be the design of Angell & Swift, who designed so many imaginative iterations of this form here in Elmwood as well on the East Side. Huestis, a real-estate broker, lived here only a few years before selling this to Leopold Dimond, owner of a dry goods store.
