The overall form of this Colonial Revival house is an evocative distillation of iconic eighteenth-century New England houses. A nice bit of work by architect Norman A. Isham, whose American architectural-history scholarship and restoration of southern New England’s most important early buildings was the first in the country. Isham designed relatively few houses, and this is one of the simplest. Nickerson was a vice president at an iron-and-steel supply company.
