A characteristic Providence Federal house, with a monitor-on-hip roof and principal entrance framed by Gothic colonnettes and surmounted by stretched-out semi-elliptical blind fanlight, this house was moved here in the late 1950s. In its original location on College Street, it was the last home of Providence writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), the prolific Providence science-fiction writer.
