Contemporary with the Esther Baker House, this is another complexly massed Queen Anne house by Stone, Carpenter & Willson with uncoursed Seekonk stone on the first story, shingles in varying patterns on the upper stories, and slate shingles on the roof. The front porch has been enclosed, eliminating the nice, programmatic dynamic between indoors and outdoors, but the overall composition is quite clear and illustrates, with Baker, the exceptional talent this firm had for Queen Anne design. Gardiner was a lawyer.
