The Rhode Island Co-operative Inc. Department Store was built in 1948-1949. It housed Cooperative Credit Union in 1951 and was converted for use as IRS offices around 1956. In 1971, the building housed the Met Life Insurance Company. It served as the State Controller’s Office in the 1980s before being converted to the Feinstein High School for Public Service and then the Paul Cuffee School.
