One of the state’s very few remaining octagon houses, this is built in the rubble-stone-wall construction dictated by this oddly shaped house’s advocate, Orson Squire Fowler. Fowler’s formula, developed in an era before the hard reinforced concrete we know today, tended to deteriorate; who knows how much longer this can stand?
